The Site
7107 Islands is a project of a Filipino expat in America who wants to share the unique beauty of the Philippines to the world. It aims to share anything about the Philippines, its people and culture.
This project was inspired by a Korean friend who shares his home through pictures of Korea in everyday life.

The Logo
The logo includes the site’s name (7107 Islands) having the Philippine flag’s colors–blue, red and white. The background contains the sun and three stars also found in the Philippine flag.
Here you will see the evolution of the site’s logo:

This is the logo I conceptualized before starting the site.
It’s really different from the logo we have right now.
You can see the sketch of the Philippines at the right side of the blog’s name.

This is my first try in making the site logo.
Since I can’t draw a decent map of the Philippines, I decided to use the design of the flag instead.
I think it’s too plain so I added the blue, red and white colors of the flag and came up with the next logo.

This is the first colored version of the logo.
I basically just chose the colors in the palette without knowing that there is specified HEX code for each color.
And so the creation of the next logo.

This is the second colored version of the logo.
I modified the colors according to the flag’s colors specified in R.A 8491.
I used the HEX code of #0038A8 for blue, #CE1126 for red and #FFFFFF for white.
The sun and the stars also followed the specified color of #FCD116.

This is the final logo of this site.
You may notice that the stars changed its position, making a shape of an inverted triangle.
It shows the placing of the colors of the flag if it is displayed vertically.
It has the blue color at the left side signifying peace in the country.
